دي لا فوينتي: مواجهة فرنسا وإسبانيا نهائي قبل الأوان

رأى مدرب المنتخب الإسباني لويس دي لا فوينتي أن نصف نهائي مونديال أمريكا الشمالية بين فرنسا و»لا روخا»، سيكون «بمثابة نهائي قبل الأوان»، معتبرا أن لاعبيه «قادرون على الفوز على أي منتخب».
وقال عقب فوز إسبانيا على بلجيكا (2-1) في ربع النهائي «ليس من المبالغة وصف هذه المباراة بنهائي قبل الأوان». وأضاف في إشارة إلى ثمن النهائي الذي فاز به الإسبان على البرتغال (1-0) «مباراتنا ضد البرتغال كانت كذلك أيضا». وتابع «نحن من بين المنتخبات القادرة على بلوغ النهائي. نحن الآن نركز بالكامل على فرنسا، وندرك تماما الإمكانات الهائلة التي تملكها، لكننا نعلم أيضا أننا المنتخب الوحيد الذي هزمهم في نصف نهائيين»، في إشارة إلى نصف نهائي كأس أوروبا 2024 (2- 1) ونصف نهائي دوري الأمم الأوروبية 2025 (5-4). واعتبر أن «المباراة ستكون مفتوحة أكثر من أي وقت مضى. يتعين علينا رفع مستوى أدائنا، وسنقدم كل ما لدينا». وأضاف «المنتخب الفرنسي في أفضل حالاته ولدينا أنماط لعب مختلفة. نحن نحترم خصومنا كثيرا، لكننا نشعر بأننا قادرون على هزيمة أي منتخب».

London: Manchester City have signed teenage winger Jeremy Monga from Leicester on a five-year deal, the Premier League giants announced Saturday.

Monga made his English top-flight debut for the Foxes aged just 15 and has joined City despite interest from other leading clubs. mchezo.life

The 17-year-old played 37 times for Leicester and was also the youngest player to start a game for the club.

No fee has been disclosed but Monga's move is reported to be worth £10 million ($13 million) with add-ons on a contract which will take him through to 2031.

Monga becomes the third English player to join Manchester City during the current transfer window, as new manager Enzo Maresca looks to refresh the squad, following the arrivals of goalkeeper Pierce Charles and club-record signing Elliot Anderson.

Monga featured for the first time in the top flight as a second-half substitute in Leicester's 3-0 defeat by Newcastle in April 2025 under Ruud van Nistelrooy and made his first start in the League Cup against Huddersfield in August 2025.

The England under-19 international is also the third-youngest player to feature in the Premier League behind Ethan Nwaneri and Max Dowman.

"When I became aware that Manchester City were interested, I knew instantly this was the right choice for me," Monga told his new club's website.

"For any young footballer, to become part of this amazing club is a dream come true. This has been the best club in England over the past 10 years.

"And it has also handed opportunities to players from the academy like Phil Foden and Nico O'Reilly which shows that the pathway is there.

"It is a privilege to be here and I'm delighted to have joined."

Doha: Qatar's Ministry of Sports and Youth has launched its 2026 Summer Plan for youth centers and organizations, featuring a nationwide program of 550 activities designed to engage young people during the school holidays.

The initiative, announced on Friday, includes events organized by youth centers across the country in partnership with a number of national institutions.

According to the ministry, the program includes 142 activities focused on civic participation, 125 centered on education, research and innovation, and 118 promoting youth health. Additional events will cover areas including environmental awareness, entrepreneurship, technology and social issues.

In a statement, the ministry said the plan aims to strengthen national identity, promote Qatari values, and encourage citizenship and social responsibility, while providing a safe and interactive learning environment for participants of different age groups.

The ministry also encouraged young people and parents to follow announcements from youth centers and take advantage of the wide range of activities available throughout the summer.

Director of the Department of Youth Centers and Organizations, Fawaz Al Mesaifri said the program reflected the ministry's continued commitment to empowering young people by helping them develop their skills in an integrated educational environment.

" The ministry believes young people are the cornerstone of development," he said. "Each year, the ministry seeks to offer innovative programs that combine knowledge, creativity and entrepreneurship, making the summer plan a genuine investment in the potential of our youth."

Head of Programs for Youth Centers and Organizations, Fatima Al Marwani said the plan had been developed in close cooperation with youth organizations to deliver a balanced program combining education and recreation.

Meanwhile, Head of Youth Centers and Organizations Affairs, Faisal Al Ibrahim, said all participating centers were fully prepared to welcome attendees, with administrative and logistical arrangements in place to ensure a high-quality experience.

The summer plan is built around seven main themes, including education and innovation, employment and entrepreneurship, social issues, civic participation, youth health, digital media and information technology, alongside specialized programs tailored to young people's interests.

Activities include training workshops, youth camps, competitions, and sporting, cultural and volunteering events aimed at helping participants develop new skills, gain practical experience and strengthen teamwork.

The initiative forms part of the ministry's broader efforts to support youth development in line with Qatar National Vision 2030 and its strategy to foster innovation, creativity and active participation in national development.
