Forfatteren af Children of Blood & Bone siger, at hun ikke har planer om at se filmatiseringen af hendes bog
Tomi Adeyemi, forfatter til den populære YA-fantasyroman Children of Blood & Bone, har offentligt udtalt, at hun hverken vil se eller støtte filmatiseringen af sit værk, som har premiere den 15. januar 2027.
I en TikTok delt af Adeyemi selv siger forfatteren og medforfatteren til filmen, at "there is a reason I will not post anything about the adaptation of my work." Adeyemi går ikke meget mere i detaljer, men tilføjer, at hun ikke har set filmen og ikke vil se den, når den udkommer.
"It's been painful holding this back from you all. ... And I'm sorry if any of you thought I didn't care about US. More than any glitter," siger Adeyemi. Forfatteren viser også, hvad der angiveligt er en korrespondence mellem hende selv og stjernen Amandla Stenberg, hvor hun siger: "Do not ever use my name in an interview or video again. Do not text me. Do not call me."
Filmatiseringen af Children of Blood & Bone kommer fra Paramount og er instrueret af Gina Prince-Bythewood. Ligesom bogen følger den historien om en ung kvinde i et afrikansk fantasy-kongerige, som må genvinde den magi, der blev stjålet fra hendes folk.
Vi får måske aldrig at vide, hvad der forårsagede denne ba blood mellem forfatteren og skaberne bag filmatiseringen, men det er på niveau med George R.R. Martins udtalelser omkring House of the Dragon i et blogindlæg.

The reporter tossed the slip away. I saw drama; the Romanians saw a fix.
This is why integrity and the perception of integrity are so important. I don’t think that game was fixed. There is no evidence whatsoever it was fixed. Given the salaries players earn and the sophistication of the early warning system for unusual betting patterns, there is little chance Premier League games are fixed. But if you grew up in the declining days of the Ceauşescu era or the wild west that followed, when match-fixing wasn’t so much an open secret as a simple fact, cynicism is the natural response.

Die Würzburger Kickers locken einen erfahrenen Verteidiger an den Dallenberg. Nathan de Medina, der bereits Erst- und Zweitliga-Einsätze in Deutschland sammelte, schließt sich dem Drittliga-Aufsteiger an. Dort kommt es zur Wiedervereinigung mit Cheftrainer Michael Schiele.
"Habe die Zeit sehr positiv in Erinnerung"
In Deutschland ist Nathan de Medina in erster Linie für seine Bundesliga-Einsätze bei Arminia Bielefeld bekannt. Zwei Jahre lang kickte der belgische Abwehrspieler mit den Ostwestfalen im Oberhaus, aber auch verschiedene Stationen in der Heimat sowie ein Engagement bei Partizan Belgrad in Serbien steht in der Vita des 28-Jährigen. FWK-Coach Michael Schiele kennt den Verteidiger wiederum aus der gemeinsamen Zeit in Braunschweig, wo de Medina zusätzlich noch 17 Zweitliga-Partien sammelte.
"Ich kenne Nathan aus unserer gemeinsamen Zeit in Braunschweig. Außerhalb des Platzes ist er ein ruhiger Typ, aber auf dem Rasen brennt er. Nathan bringt eine gehörige Portion Physis, Power und Bissigkeit in unser Defensivspiel. Perfekt für die 3. Liga", bestätigt Schiele. Und auch der Abwehrspieler freut sich über die erneute Zusammenarbeit: "Ich habe die Zeit unter Michael Schiele sehr positiv in Erinnerung. Ich freue mich, nach Würzburg zu kommen, das Team kennenzulernen und mit den Kickers eine gute Saison zu spielen."

De Medina wurde beim RSC Anderlecht ausgebildet und stieg dort auch zum Profi auf, gab sein Debüt in der belgischen Spitzenklasse jedoch erst später nach seinem Wechsel zu Royal Mouscron. Zuletzt stand der 28-Jährige wieder in der Heimat bei Olympic Charleroi unter Vertrag, wo er zehn Zweitliga-Partien spielte. Nun wechselt de Medina ablösefrei, da sein Arbeitspapier zum 30. Juni ausgelaufen war. In Würzburg ist er der achte Neuzugang für die neue Drittliga-Saison.
College Football 27 to remove microtransactions after player backlash, though EA maintains they were only added to 'give players more choice'
The latest EA Sports College Football game has finally arrived, which is tantalizing news if you were excited for the series' hotly anticipated comeback a couple years ago. Less tantalizing is the game's reception, which so far has been marred by widespread backlash to its egregious microtransactions. Complaining works: in a post on X yesterday, the official CFB account said those microtransactions are out.
"Your feedback on Road to Glory and Dynasty is that we've missed the mark with the introduction of paid progression options," the statement reads. Notably, Road to Glory is a single-player mode (in a game that already costs $70)—a prominent point of contention amid the negative feedback.
"This was added independent of deeper mode progression with the aim to give players more choice … tomorrow morning, we will remove all paid progression options from Road to Glory and Online Dynasty." That's today, so if you were planning to dump some change into those modes, you may have missed your chance.
The backlash was led in part by YouTuber Bordeaux, who got the hashtag "#CFBPlayDontPay" trending on social media. In response to the statement from EA, he posted "we did it" with a clip from Breaking Bad: Walter White saying "I won." Fans are generally elated—"Never let anyone tell you that organizing against giant corporations doesn't do anything," said Reddit user UnrealAce on a thread approaching 5,000 upvotes. "They tell you it doesn't work so you don't try because they KNOW that it works."
"Organizing" might be a strong word given that EA folded in a matter of days and it's not like anyone marched on the developer's offices, but it's hard to argue with the results. That said, it doesn't necessarily seem like the beast is dead.
A line in EA's post notes, "Our goal for live service plans in CFB28 and beyond will be to deliver valuable features and content with greater transparency and communication." Given that and the lines stating EA "missed the mark with the introduction of paid progression options … they're not adding the value we intended," the statement suggests the problem here was merely the rollout and not the notion of paid progression itself.
